Digitally Capturing an Entire Township: The CitraIndah City Jonggol 360° Virtual Experience
How do you digitally communicate the scale and maturity of an entire township?
That was the challenge facing CitraIndah City Jonggol.
As a large and established township development, CitraIndah City needed prospective buyers and investors to understand something that could not easily be communicated through conventional photography and property marketing materials.
CitraIndah City was already active.
People lived there.
Children attended schools there.
Businesses operated there.
Residents visited parks, places of worship, commercial areas, healthcare facilities, and other amenities throughout the township.
However, for prospective buyers located in Jakarta and other areas, physically travelling to Jonggol to understand the scale and environment of the development could require a significant investment of time.
InReality Solutions was selected through a competitive tender to solve this challenge.
Our team developed a complete immersive 360° township experience encompassing 116 panoramic locations throughout CitraIndah City.
From strategy and photography planning to on-location 360° photography, extensive image editing, custom UI/UX, interactive township navigation, sales functionality, Live Guided Tours, and deployment, the entire experience was developed end-to-end by InReality Solutions.
The result was an interactive digital platform designed to give prospective buyers and investors a better understanding of the scale, maturity, facilities, activity, and investment potential of CitraIndah City—without requiring them to immediately travel to Jonggol.
The Challenge: A Township Too Large to Communicate Through Conventional Property Marketing
CitraIndah City Jonggol is not a single residential cluster.
It is an established township encompassing numerous residential developments, commercial areas, educational facilities, healthcare services, places of worship, public spaces, transportation infrastructure, and other amenities.
This created a unique property marketing challenge.
Prospective buyers considering properties within newer residential clusters needed to understand the larger environment surrounding their potential investment.
They needed to see that CitraIndah City was not simply a collection of new residential properties located far from Jakarta.
It was already an active and established township.
However, communicating that reality through conventional property marketing was difficult.
A photograph could show a park.
Another could show a school.
A video could present selected facilities.
A brochure could display a township map.
But these individual pieces of content could not easily communicate the relationship between the different locations or provide prospective buyers with a genuine understanding of the township’s scale.
The most effective way to fully understand CitraIndah City was to physically visit it.
For prospective buyers located hours away, however, this created friction within the property evaluation and sales process.
CitraIndah City needed another way.
Building Buyer Confidence Through Digital Exploration
One of the primary objectives of the project was to increase confidence among prospective property buyers and investors.
Investing in a new residential cluster within a developing area can create uncertainty.
Prospective buyers may ask:
Is the surrounding area already developed?
Are people actually living there?
Are there schools nearby?
What commercial facilities are available?
Can residents access healthcare?
Are there public spaces and recreational facilities?
Is transportation available?
What does everyday activity within the township actually look like?
CitraIndah City wanted prospective buyers to understand that they were not investing in an isolated development waiting years for the surrounding area to mature.
They were purchasing property within an existing, active township.
The challenge was to prove that digitally.
The Solution: An Immersive 360° Experience Covering an Entire Township
InReality Solutions developed a comprehensive virtual experience covering key areas throughout CitraIndah City.
Unlike many property virtual tours, the objective was not to showcase a single house, apartment, or residential cluster.
The subject of the virtual experience was the township itself.
Our team strategically planned and captured 116 panoramic locations across CitraIndah City.
The experience incorporated:
- Main boulevards
- Major intersections
- Residential cluster entrances
- Active residential clusters
- Schools
- Commercial areas
- Markets
- Parks
- Lake areas
- Water park
- Hospital
- Places of worship
- Transportation locations
- Bus stops
- Marketing gallery
- Public facilities
- Other key destinations throughout the township
The individual panoramic locations were then connected through a custom-designed interactive platform that allowed prospective buyers to virtually move throughout CitraIndah City and understand the relationship between its different areas.
116 Panoramic Locations Across CitraIndah City
Creating an immersive experience at township scale required a fundamentally different approach from photographing a conventional property.
InReality Solutions captured 116 panoramic locations throughout the development.
These were strategically selected to communicate the scale, infrastructure, facilities, and activity within CitraIndah City.
For the majority of residential clusters, the experience showcased the cluster entrances and their locations along the township’s road network.
This allowed users to understand where the different developments were situated and how they related to the larger CitraIndah City environment.
Three clusters that were actively being marketed at the time received more extensive coverage:
- Bukit Permai
- Bukit Meranti
- Bukit Viola
For these developments, users could explore areas within the clusters and access additional property sales information.
Three Featured Residential Clusters
Bukit Permai, Bukit Meranti, and Bukit Viola were incorporated more extensively into the virtual experience because they represented the residential developments actively being marketed at the time.
Prospective buyers could access:
- Virtual cluster exploration
- Site plans
- Property information
- Brochures
- Sales materials
- Contact functionality
This created two different layers within the virtual platform.
At the township level, users could explore CitraIndah City and understand the surrounding environment.
At the cluster level, interested buyers could access more specific information about the properties currently available for purchase.
This created a natural digital buyer journey:
Understand the Township → Explore the Environment → Discover Available Clusters → Access Property Information → Contact Sales
Showing the Infrastructure Behind an Established Township
One of the most important objectives of the project was to demonstrate the infrastructure and facilities already available throughout CitraIndah City.
The immersive experience incorporated a wide variety of destinations, including six educational facilities, a hospital, places of worship, commercial centers, recreational areas, and transportation infrastructure.
Among the locations captured were:
- Six schools
- Hospital
- Mosque
- Church
- Four commercial areas
- Markets
- Water park
- Central Park
- City Park
- Lake
- Marketing gallery
- Transportation routes
- Bus stops
- Residential cluster entrances
By bringing these locations together within one navigable digital environment, prospective buyers could gain a much clearer understanding of the lifestyle and infrastructure available throughout CitraIndah City.
A Different Approach to 360° Property Photography
Most property virtual tour projects aim to photograph environments when they are completely empty.
People are removed from the scene.
Cars are moved.
Activity is minimized.
The objective is typically to present the physical property as cleanly as possible.
The CitraIndah City project required the opposite approach.
One of the primary objectives was to demonstrate that the township was active.
People needed to be visible.
Vehicles needed to be present.
Businesses needed to appear operational.
The township needed to feel alive.
However, this created a difficult visual balance.
Too little activity could make the development appear empty.
Too much activity could create visual clutter, privacy concerns, and an unattractive virtual experience.
InReality Solutions therefore needed to carefully control how the township’s activity was captured.
The objective was not to photograph an empty development.
It was to capture a living township in a visually controlled and marketing-appropriate way.
Photographing in the Middle of Active Roads
Many of the required panoramic locations were situated directly along active roads.
This created significant logistical and operational challenges.
Our team travelled throughout the township by car, transporting 360° photography equipment between locations.
At each location, the process needed to happen quickly.
The camera and tripod had to be positioned.
The surrounding environment had to be evaluated.
Nearby people sometimes needed to be asked to temporarily provide space.
The photography team needed to move away from the 360° camera before capturing the image.
Cars and motorcycles continued travelling through the area.
U-turns occurred.
Traffic conditions changed.
The equipment needed to remain secure.
And because 360° photography captures the complete surrounding environment, the photography team could not simply stand behind the camera.
Every location required careful planning, awareness, and fast execution.
116 Locations Photographed in Two Days
Despite the scale and complexity of the project, InReality Solutions completed the primary on-location photography across CitraIndah City within two full shooting days.
This required extensive planning before arriving on location.
The team needed to understand:
- Which areas required photography
- The most efficient route through the township
- Appropriate camera positions
- Traffic conditions
- Lighting requirements
- Facility access
- Security coordination
- How each location would connect within the final virtual experience
Efficiency was essential.
With 116 panoramic locations distributed across a large township, unnecessary movement or poor planning could significantly extend the production schedule.
Four Site Visits Due to Changing Weather Conditions
Outdoor 360° photography is highly dependent on weather.
Lighting conditions need to remain visually consistent.
Rain can make photography impossible.
Cloud conditions can change the appearance of outdoor environments.
Wet roads and puddles can affect the visual quality of the final images.
Although the primary photography was completed within two full shooting days, the InReality Solutions team returned to the location on four occasions due to changing weather conditions and the need to achieve appropriate imagery.
This helped ensure greater consistency and quality across the completed experience.
Transforming an Aging Township into Marketing-Ready Imagery
CitraIndah City is an established development.
And established environments naturally show signs of age and everyday use.
Roads can develop potholes.
Pavements can become damaged.
Grass and vegetation can become overgrown.
Rain creates puddles.
Public spaces experience wear and tear.
These elements may be completely normal within a large, active township.
However, professional property marketing imagery requires a different visual standard.
InReality Solutions therefore conducted extensive post-production across the panoramic imagery.
Extensive 360° Image Editing and Digital Cleanup
The image editing process included addressing visual issues such as:
- Road damage
- Potholes
- Water puddles
- Broken pavements
- Overgrown vegetation
- Unwanted debris
- Visual distractions
- Other signs of wear and tear
Editing panoramic imagery is particularly complex because changes need to remain visually consistent throughout the complete 360° environment.
The objective was not to create an unrealistic representation of CitraIndah City.
Instead, our team carefully improved the presentation of the township while maintaining the authenticity of the real environment.
The final imagery needed to be accurate enough to represent the actual location while polished enough to support professional property marketing.
Custom UI/UX Designed for Township-Scale Navigation
A 116-location virtual experience can quickly become overwhelming without effective navigation.
InReality Solutions therefore designed the complete UI/UX specifically around the scale of CitraIndah City.
Every menu, navigation element, information window, button, interactive feature, and visual component was custom-developed for the project.
Users needed to be able to understand:
- Where they were
- What they were viewing
- Which facilities were nearby
- How different clusters were positioned
- Which areas they could visit next
- How to access sales information
The interface was designed to make a geographically large and complex township easier to understand digitally.
Interactive Township Map with Radar Navigation
An interactive township site plan was incorporated into the experience.
As users moved between panoramic locations, the map helped them understand their current position within CitraIndah City.
Radar-style navigation also indicated the user’s viewing direction.
This was particularly important because the primary purpose of the experience was not simply to showcase individual locations.
It was to help prospective buyers understand how those locations connected within the larger township.
A user could see where a school was located in relation to a residential cluster.
They could understand where commercial facilities were positioned.
They could explore the main boulevard and see how different areas connected.
The interactive map transformed 116 individual panoramas into one coherent digital environment.
Custom Desktop and Mobile Experiences
The platform was designed for desktop computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, and compatible VR devices.
InReality Solutions developed the experience to function effectively across different screen sizes and interaction methods.
The UI/UX was adapted to ensure that navigation, menus, information, maps, and interactive functionality remained accessible across both desktop and mobile devices.
This allowed prospective buyers to begin exploring CitraIndah City from virtually anywhere.
Live Guided Tours for Remote Township Presentations
The platform also incorporated Live Guided Tour functionality.
CitraIndah City’s sales team could use the feature to remotely guide prospective buyers through the township.
This was particularly relevant to the geographical challenge behind the project.
A prospective buyer did not necessarily need to immediately spend several hours travelling to Jonggol simply to gain an initial understanding of the development.
Instead, a sales representative could conduct an interactive remote presentation.
They could virtually guide the buyer along the township.
Show facilities.
Explain the infrastructure.
Visit residential clusters.
Answer questions.
And provide context about the surrounding environment.
According to feedback from the CitraIndah City sales team, the Live Guided Tour feature became a useful part of their remote sales presentations.
Deep Sharing for Specific Locations
The platform also incorporated Deep Sharing functionality.
Users and sales representatives could share specific locations and viewing directions within the virtual experience.
Rather than simply sending someone to the general CitraIndah City virtual tour, they could direct the recipient to a particular location.
This could include:
- A residential cluster entrance
- A school
- A commercial area
- A park
- A facility
- A particular area within a featured cluster
This helped make communication between prospective buyers and sales representatives more precise.
Integrated Brochures and Sales Materials
For the three actively marketed residential clusters—Bukit Permai, Bukit Meranti, and Bukit Viola—the platform incorporated additional sales information.
Prospective buyers could access brochures, site plans, property information, and other relevant sales materials without leaving the virtual environment.
Users could also contact the CitraIndah City sales team directly through the experience.
The platform therefore combined township exploration with practical property sales functionality.
From Tender Process to Complete Deployment in Approximately Six Weeks
CitraIndah City required a virtual tour provider capable of handling a significantly larger and more operationally complex project than a conventional property photoshoot.
Following a competitive tender process, InReality Solutions was selected to deliver the project.
One of the factors behind our selection was our experience working with large-scale environments and complex outdoor locations.
The entire project was completed in approximately one and a half months.
During this period, InReality Solutions handled:
- Project strategy
- Location planning
- Photography route planning
- Security coordination
- 360° photography
- Multiple location visits
- Panoramic stitching
- Extensive image editing
- Digital environmental cleanup

The Results
Google Analytics data demonstrates that prospective buyers actively use and explore the CitraIndah City virtual experience.
Over a six-month measurement period, the platform recorded strong engagement across users, click events, and play events.
The platform achieved these results without paid advertising.
Traffic came organically or through visitors accessing the experience from the CitraIndah City website.
More Than 40 Click Interactions per User
Based on the available Google Analytics data, the virtual experience generated approximately 41 click interactions per user during the six-month reporting period.
This demonstrates that visitors were not simply opening the experience and immediately leaving.
They were actively interacting with the platform.
Users were navigating locations, exploring the township, opening information, accessing features, and engaging with the experience.
The approximately 17,000 recorded play events provide further evidence of active usage throughout the platform.
Turning Geographical Distance into a Digital Sales Opportunity
The fundamental challenge behind the CitraIndah City project was geographical.
Prospective buyers needed to understand a large township located a significant distance from central Jakarta.
Conventional digital marketing could show photographs and videos.
But those formats could not easily provide a genuine sense of spatial understanding.
The immersive platform changed this.
Prospective buyers could remotely explore CitraIndah City.
They could travel along its main roads.
Visit schools.
See commercial areas.
Explore public spaces.
Understand transportation infrastructure.
Discover residential clusters.
And gain a clearer understanding of the maturity and activity of the township.
This helped transform geographical distance from a sales barrier into an opportunity for digital engagement.
Showing Activity Instead of Hiding It
The CitraIndah City project also required InReality Solutions to challenge a conventional principle of property virtual tour photography.
Usually, empty spaces are considered ideal.
For this project, emptiness would have undermined the client’s objective.
The value of CitraIndah City was partly demonstrated by the fact that people were already living, working, studying, travelling, shopping, and spending time there.
The activity was part of the story.
Our challenge was therefore to find the right visual balance.
Active enough to demonstrate a thriving township.
Controlled enough to create a professional marketing experience.
Achieving this required strategic photography, careful timing, multiple takes, and extensive post-production.
Building Confidence in Property Investment Through Immersive Technology
Ultimately, the CitraIndah City virtual experience was designed to answer one fundamental concern for prospective buyers:
What am I investing in?
Not simply:
What does the house look like?
But:
What surrounds it?
Is the area established?
Are people already living there?
Are schools available?
Is healthcare accessible?
Are there commercial areas?
Can residents travel conveniently?
Is the township active?
Does this feel like a place with long-term potential?
By allowing prospective buyers to explore CitraIndah City virtually, the platform helped communicate something difficult to demonstrate through conventional property marketing:
the value of investing within an already-established and active township.
“We needed a virtual tour that could showcase our entire township and reassure buyers that the area is already mature and well-developed. InReality Solutions exceeded our expectations. They captured the township beautifully, cleaned up temporary construction areas, and delivered a result that feels real, polished, and incredibly useful for our marketing. It has become an essential tool for promoting our new clusters.”
